Job Details

Work is focused on new, residential construction across the Hampton Roads area. Previous HVAC experience required.

Main Job Duties:

Work with vendors for pricing, create and audit duct plans via the Elite software (Man-J and Man-D), and create takeoffs for jobs. Oversee HVAC division of company. 

Duties include: 

• Create takeoffs and material lists
• Utilize Manual-J information to create accurate duct plans
• Must be able to write up proposals for new projects
• Coordinate HVAC subcontractors/employees to jobs and job sites
• Manage shortage lists from in the field, and verified they get filled
• Maintain shortage lists for HVAC warehouse
• Work with vendors for best pricing
• Discuss various options with clients/builders and help them determine which option is best for their situation
• Verify components compatibility before sending items for installation
• May have to visit jobsites to discuss options with builders, verify quality of install, and or to verify quality of employee performance

Expectations:

Arrive at the office at 7 AM to help get orders on trucks and send employees to job sites. Be able to have effective communication in office and with builders/clients. May have to audit jobsite performance / ductwork installation.

Qualifications:

• Years of experience, previous on the job training
• Able to use computer to create takeoffs and duct plans; and able to use Outlook email software
• Understanding of ductwork 
• Understand HVAC codes and requirements

Preferred:

• Create Manual-J (not required but would be a plus)
• Apprenticeship under a journeyperson for three to five years
• Special certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants
• Certification or associate degree from an HVAC program at a technical school
• Active, clean driver`s license
