POSITION PURPOSE

The Engineering Supervisor supervises, and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds.  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Participates in training new employees.
Oversees the daily workflow of assigned departments.
Provides constructive and timely performance feedback to employees. 
Participates in discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.

• Maintains positive employee relations at all times.
• Assign job assignments and tasks to engineers.  Follow up to ensure completed.
• Prepare and post weekly schedule.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards. 
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. 
• Anticipate guests` needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. 
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. 
• Receive daily work assignments from Director of Engineering and review priorities and special projects. 
• Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments. 
• Perform daily checks around the hotel, check work orders and night report for any problems. Make rounds checking these problem areas and note any information needed or safety concerns in the hotel. 
• Schedule work and inspect in accordance with preventive maintenance program in rooms, coordinating with the Executive Housekeeper and Front Office.  
• Perform general maintenance to guestrooms and public areas. 
• Assist other engineering personnel as instructed by supervisor in regard to routine and preventive maintenance. 
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.  
• Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools. 
• Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces. 
• Ensure security of any assigned keys. 
• Assist with any special projects assigned.
• Order, stock and maintain inventory of parts and supplies as needed.
• Monitor life safety checklist, including fire pump and generator.
• Inspect fire and alarm systems and conduct periodic fire drills.
• Diagnose, maintain and repair mechanical equipment.
