Warehouse SpecialistLeidos supports the U.S. Navy under the PEO IWS 5 program by modernizing shipboard sonar capabilities to ensure fleet readiness and operational superiority. This program focuses on the removal of legacy sonar systems and the installation of the updated AN/SQQ-89(V)15 Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Combat System aboard Navy surface combatants.The Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to join our team at our Chesapeake, VA office in support of the PMW 550 Integrated Logistics Center program which provides logistics, and engineering services to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of parts and material for the US Navy's AN/SQQ-89 Sonar system. Begin your journey of a flourishing and meaningful career, share your resume with us today!Responsibilities – Work you'll do:Maintain a correct inventory of material within the Warehouse Management System.Receiving, identifying material and record keeping functions associated with the receipt of materials.Shipping, packaging and record keeping functions associated with the shipment of materials both commercially and in accordance with US Navy supply system.Load, unload, and move to stowage, freight and piece parts, both manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.Perform periodic inventory of shipping material to ensure adequate quantities on hand.Document and maintain accurate shipping activity files.Breakdown of major equipment to smaller units via the use of hand tools or power tools as required.Develop a level of expertise via cross training of coworker functions to fill in for position absences.Required Experience, Skills, and Education:High School diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of experience.Understanding of US Navy supply system and practices.Proficient with computers, printers, laptops, and common Windows applications.Working knowledge of common hand tools and power tools.Ability to manually lift packages up to 50 lbs.Demonstrate ability to perform assigned taskingsSuccessfully pass a pre-employment drug screeningAbility to work 8-hour shifts in support of 24/7 operations.Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain Secret ClearancePreferred Experience, Skills, and Education – Favorable if you have:Forklift operator.Knowledge HAZMAT shipping/storage.Past experience as a US Navy Sonar Technician (STG) or Logistics Specialist (LS).If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
