Every successful movement has one thing in common: a strong backbone that consists of people who work behind the scenes, off camera, and out of the limelight. These are the diligent workers without whom success is not truly possible. You may have seen a "Lettuce Lady" on TV or in your hometown, a vegan starter kit in a newsstand on the corner, or one of PETA's many creative and eye-catching demonstrations throughout the years. The inventory clerk is involved with all these things. As a vital member of the PETA Foundation, the inventory clerk will keep a costume-and-prop inventory of more than 1,200 items meticulously organized for PETA's International Grassroots Campaigns Department, making sure that the inventory report is up to date and helping PETA's cadre of campaigners get the costumes and props that they need on the road. Experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory keeping is very important, as your skills in all three areas will be put to the test while you keep the on-site and off-site storage at PETA's Sam Simon Center (the group's headquarters in Norfolk) in good shape. It almost goes without saying that this job will require quite a bit of heavy lifting, so you will need to be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis. If you want to be a part of the backbone of the organization that supports the largest animal rights group in the world, then please apply!Position ObjectiveTo maintain the inventory of PETA's literature and demonstration materials and PETA's and the PETA Foundation's office suppliesPrimary Responsibilities and DutiesComplete PETA demonstration material requestsReceive, store, and restock PETA's literature and demonstration materialsMaintain inventory reports for demo prop, and literature inventoriesMaintain organization of all storage facilities (in-house and off-site)Assist in monitoring inventory levels and report low quantities in a timely mannerAssist in maintaining shipping supplies, ensuring that supplies are purchased at competitive ratesAssist in the processing of distribution plans and production requestsAssist in the fulfillment of PETA literature requestsRun departmental errandsPerform any other duties assigned by the supervisorRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office softwareDemonstrated excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detailDemonstrated effective communication skillsProven ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervisionMust be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving recordAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basisCommitment to the objectives of the organizationApplication DeadlineApplications for this position will be accepted until April 8, 2026.We may fill this job opening before the deadline if we find a qualified candidate.#J-18808-Ljbffr
