The City of Norfolk's Department of Parks and Recreation is currently seeking a Chief Park Ranger. The Chief Park Ranger will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and schedules of the Park Ranger Unit. This leadership position will act as a liaison between the department and the Norfolk Police Department, and State Law enforcement agencies while acting as the first point of contact for visitors utilizing recreational facilities; greets and educates visitors. Essential functions include but are not limited to:
Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Preferred License(s) and/or Certification(s): Certification as a Special Conservator of the Peace CPR/First Aid certified within six months of hire. Additional Preferred Experience: Two years experience in law enforcement, military, or park operations preferred.
Work Location: Lakewood Athletics Office, 1612 Willow Wood Drive, Norfolk, VA 23509 Work Hours: Saturday through Friday. Hours vary, flexible scheduling required
