Description
- Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create tailor-made treatment strategies that prioritize both immediate goals and long-term needs pertaining to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Provide targeted speech therapy sessions that emphasize language, voice, fluency, and swallowing skills.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to bolster progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Assist with select inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring consistent quality of care throughout the treatment process.
- Document clinical notes accurately and in a timely manner while adhering to all state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Remain updated with the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education - Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications - State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting employment.
