POSITION SUMMARY:

The Signage- Design Engineer III position is an integral part of the design process here at Cima; you will be tasked with creating and interpreting successful sign designs, fabrication methods, installation methods and field services through the assembly of technically oriented drawings. As a senior member of the Design Engineering department, you will be relied upon by your peers in Design, as well as other departments, for technical input and guidance through various forms of communication. This is a collaborative role that incorporates your vast knowledge from a long tenure in the sign industry.

Primary Duties:

• Utilize CAD (Computer Aided Design) to create technical drawings for all aspects of the Sign Design Process (Permits, Manufacturing/Fabrication, Installation and Service).
• Developing and maintaining client standards.
• Utilize, monitor, and input information into our Design Request System for drawing completion updates.
• Collaborate with various departments in a variety of ways/applications/scenarios with Cima's best interest in mind.
• Assist in RFP (Request for Proposal) process in collaboration with Sales, Estimating and Manufacturing on an as-requested basis.

• Time Management - Tasks listed above should be done in a timely, friendly, and positive manner.
• Utilize various forms of communication to keep project stakeholders up to date with project developments.
• Servicing and aiding company/department peers with both Cima's and its customers' best interest in mind.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years sign industry experience
• This requirement is born from the fact that you will have a pivotal role here at Cima, extensive experience in all aspects of the sign industry is required to make these decisions in a way that is safe and constructive.
• An Undergraduate Certificate (Associates or Bachelors) or Trade Certification in a relevant area of study is requested.
• Extensive knowledge of 2D and/or 3D CAD programs.
• Cima currently utilizes CorelDraw as its primary platform for both Brand Design and Design Engineering. Programs such as: Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, SketchUp, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc. may be used on an as needed basis.
• Ability to communicate with all stakeholders.
• Ability to optimize your time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle controls (keyboard, phone); and talk or hear. Occasional standing, walking, stooping is required. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds. Closed toed shoes are required due to access and engagement on the shop floor.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

The position may require travel for client engagement, site visits, or vendor visits. Adequate communication in reference to travel will be provided prior to travel.
