This is a high-impact role that ensures our clients receive exceptional stormwater system service, while leading crews to perform at their best. You'll be at the heart of Dragonfly Pond Works' mission-delivering quality work, maximizing team productivity, and helping drive the success of every project.

Location: Virginia Beach, VA, 23320

Pay range: $60,000 - $75,000

Requirements

• At least one year of former field experience (Lake/Pond Maintenance, Construction, or Landscaping).
• Excellent managerial capabilities and current experience in a leadership role.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail.
• Great communication skills and ability to interact with multiple audiences, including the Operations Team, Client Service Managers, clients, subcontractors, vendors and other stakeholders.
• Adapt and/or improvise quickly, as demanded by conditions or unknown factors.
• Capability to work under pressure.
• Good teamwork.
• Ability to lift 80 pounds on a regular basis.
• Aptitude to work outside for long periods of time in unfavorable conditions.
• Willingness to travel to assist other branches with notice.
• Systems-oriented.
• Results-driven.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for maintenance and mowing services, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with client contracts.
• Lead and manage field crews, including scheduling, routing, quality control, and performance evaluations.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices across all maintenance activities.
• Train new and existing employees on equipment use, safety procedures, plant identification, and technical skills.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles, managing inventory and ensuring functionality.
• Conduct regular site visits and quality assessments to ensure service standards and compliance requirements are met.
• Support business growth by identifying opportunities and assisting with estimates, staffing, and client communication.
• Collaborate with HR and leadership on hiring, onboarding, and certification requirements.
