CTR Group is seeking a Sheet Metal Shop Handyman local to the Norfolk, VA area.Immediate openings and urgently hiring!

Pay: $18

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

• Set up and break down equipment, including assisting Journeymen with running hoses; operate power tools; clean the work area; and properly dispose of garbage, scrap, and other materials as directed by a supervisor.
• Perform semiskilled functions within the assigned trade.
• Check out, deliver, return, and properly care for materials and tools used in the trade.
• Identify and correctly use equipment and tools required for the trade.
• Perform preventive maintenance on shop machinery and equipment, including lubricating machinery, checking fluid levels, and making minor adjustments as directed.
• Organize, arrange, and maintain order in stockrooms and material staging areas.
• Work safely and productively while maintaining quality control at all times.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices and ensure work areas are kept clean and hazardfree; ensure job sites are left in safe condition before departure.
• Follow established policies and procedures, including timekeeping requirements.
• Understand emergency and evacuation procedures, including muster locations and supervisor accountability requirements.
• Recognize and avoid potential safety hazards.
• Identify appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and use it correctly.
• Navigate a ship and understand compartment designations, where applicable.
