Position Type: Part-Time/Full-Time

Schedule:

Yorktown: 9 hours per week

Hampton: 40 hours per week

Suffolk: 30 hours per week

On-Call Requirement: Every other weekend, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (half-day)

Pay & Benefits

Pay Rate: $15–$16 per hour (based on experience)

Mileage Reimbursement: Mileage reimbursed for travel after 20 miles, in accordance with agency policy

Job Summary

Silver Care Home Health Agency is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Care Aides (PCAs) to provide quality in-home support to clients in Yorktown and Hampton, Virginia. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) while promoting dignity, safety, and independence. This position also requires participation in an every-other-weekend on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

The Personal Care Aide will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

Bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene

Dressing and undressing

Toileting and incontinence care

Mobility assistance and transfers

Feeding assistance as needed

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs):

Light housekeeping

Meal preparation

Laundry

Errands and grocery shopping

Medication reminders (as permitted by the care plan)

Additional Duties:

Respond to on-call needs during assigned weekend rotations

Observe and report changes in client condition

Follow individualized care plans

Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment

Communicate effectively with clients, families, and agency staff

Complete required documentation accurately and on time

Qualifications

Must be able to complete all ADLs and IADLs independently

Must be available for every-other-weekend on-call rotation (8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

Reliable transportation

Compassionate, patient, and dependable

Ability to follow agency policies and care plans

Home care or caregiving experience preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, push, or pull as required by client care

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with transfers
