As a vital member of our team, you'll be the welcoming face of our facility - reuniting lost pets with their families, facilitating successful adoptions, and providing compassionate care to animals in need.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with the public and is eager to help us achieve our mission. Your efforts will directly impact the lives of animals in our care while helping us build a more compassionate and informed community.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver warm, professional, and efficient service to visitors in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Facilitate adoptions, intakes, transfers, redemptions, and related processes in accordance with established policies.
  • Review and approve adoption applications, ensuring all eligibility requirements are met.
  • Educate citizens on responsible pet ownership and local, state, and federal ordinances.
  • Collect and process fees and donations; issue receipts and provide relevant educational materials.
  • Reconcile and report financial transactions accurately on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Maintain and update records in department software, including medical records, licenses, and reports.
  • Receive and document lost and found reports; track identification and notify pet owners as appropriate.
  • Manage inventory and submit purchase requests for customer service supplies.
  • Protect citizen privacy and escalate concerns to supervisors when necessary.
  • Distribute surveys and collect feedback to support service improvements and community engagement.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT : Requires high school diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT : In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of three months of related, full-time equivalent experience.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : May require certifications depending on the department. Depending on departmental operational requirements, may require valid driver's license and driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft, Outlook and SharePoint.
Strong customer service skills.
