Welder

GDIT is seeking a Welder to help support the CTII and GIC program in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Newport News and Portsmouth areas in Virginia. This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided. Must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities:

• Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding.
• Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders.
• Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
• Uses measuring instruments and hand tools to positions pieces requiring welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps.
• Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Participates in special projects, as required.

Requirements:

• US Citizen
• HS/GED
• Technical or vocational training
• 5+ years of experience, including Pipe welding

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $19.84 - $25.30. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Travel Required: Less than 10%
