Facilities Maintenance Technician

The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:

RTX Raytheon Real Estate Services has an opening for a Facilities Maintenance Technician at the Chesapeake Bay Va site.

What will you do:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all infrastructure systems including HVAC, Chilled Water Distribution, pumps, motors, and frontend Building automation controls.
  • Perform as a first night shift compressed facilities mechanic supporting plant operations.
  • Work 12-hour shifts in order to cover the site 24/7 from 6:00 pm until 6:00 am.
  • Provide coverage and support for the facility days/nights/weekends if business, schedule, or emergency situations arise.

What type of experience will be gained through this position:

  • Manage facilities operations in a 2 Million square foot manufacturing building.
  • Gain technical experience working alongside senior mechanics and contractors.
  • Learn to troubleshoot large infrastructure equipment and controls.

Qualifications you must have:

  • HS Diploma or GED or AA/AS degree (or another 2 year post HS training) and 4 or more years of relevant experience.
  • At least 4 years' experience in (three or more) of the following areas:
    • HVAC and Building Automation Controls
    • Maintenance of pumps, motors, valve and actuator operation
    • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
    • Refrigeration cycles
  • At least 2 years' experience with and strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and complex schematics as well as knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards for Safe work practice, hazard assessment and mitigation

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Computer acumen to include a strong understanding of the function and application of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as well as common office technology including MS office suite of software and other Web based tools.
  • Customer Focused with strong Oral/ Written Communication skills
  • Expertise in Electrical, VFD's and motor controls and leading team members
  • PLC controls troubleshooting
  • Journeyman level license in relevant field

  • This is an onsite role qualified candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from the Chesapeake Va hub.

The salary range for this role is 40,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
