EAP Counselor - Independent Contractor

We are currently seeking a Counselor to work onsite as an independent contractor at our customer location in Hampton, VA. This position is a part-time position working one day per week, 7:00am - 3:30pm EST.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to clients on a wide range of issues, including personal and mental health concerns.
  • Conduct assessments of and development treatment plans for clients experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
  • Connect clients with appropriate community resources and support services, such as housing assistance, food security programs and mental health treatment facilities.
  • Provide training and information seminars to management or employee groups on mental health and well-being subjects related to the EAP Program.
  • As needed, respond to workplace critical incidents to help mitigate the acute stress impacts to employees.
What You'll Need:
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
  • Must hold a license in the state of Virginia
  • Experience in assessment and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with applicable laws and ethical guidelines
  • Familiarity with EAP programs preferred but not required.
