Description:

If so, come join our team and help develop up and coming clinicians!!Licensed Clinician II tasks include:* Licensed Clinician provides direct supervision to clinicians (counselors) on a daily, weekly, biweekly and monthly basis, including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work, coaching, counseling, disciplining and recommending termination.* Provides individual, group, and family counseling and/or crisis intervention for mental health & substance use disorders, intellectual disabilities or developmental delays.* Licensed Clinician completes annual master assessments, diagnosing individuals based on presenting symptoms and related behaviors, and triaging individuals to the appropriate departments within the agency for ongoing services and treatment.* Provides appropriate clinical documentation and assures that assessments and correspondence to outside contacts are clinically appropriate and completed thoroughly and in a timely manner.* Develops and implements person-centered, recovery-oriented, outcome-based individualized treatment plans; makes referrals for other care providers as needed; documents accordingly.* Completes required annual compliance training, participates actively and constructively in program and professional development.* Acts as alpha (essential) personnel for the City of Chesapeake during periods of City emergency, manning shelters and/or coordinating with other City departments in programs such as the dispensing site.The City of Chesapeake offers an exceptional range of benefits. Please browse our Benefits Brochure, for a full list of benefits and employee perks.#clinician #counselor #casemanagement #mentalhealthRequired QualificationsVOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:Requires a master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field, or another degree as approved by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of four years of related, full-time equivalent experience.SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:* Requires State of Virginia licensure as a Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Professional Counselor (LPC).SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.Preferred QualificationsRequires Current State of Virginia Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC), or Clinical Psychologist (LCP).It is highly preferred that the selected applicant will be an LCSW.Experience using the electronic health record CredibleRegistered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions as approved to provide clinical supervision.
